The Kendall County Soil and Water Conservation District, located in Yorkville, Illinois, has announced an opening for the position of Agriculture Education Coordinator.
This opportunity is designed for individuals with a strong background in teaching, communication, and community engagement, who are passionate about promoting agricultural and conservation awareness.
The selected candidate will manage and coordinate the District’s education program. Core responsibilities include planning and delivering classroom presentations, organizing teacher workshops, and developing outreach initiatives to strengthen community understanding of conservation.
The role also involves assisting with special events, writing grants to support educational projects, and collaborating with other staff members and federal partners on conservation-related activities.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills. The ability to multi-task, remain organized, and work independently is highly valued. Since education is central to the position, teaching experience is required, ensuring that the coordinator can confidently lead programs for students and adults alike.
This position is structured as a 30 to 40 hour work week, with office hours running Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Candidates should be prepared to attend occasional evening board meetings and special events. Compensation will be based on experience, and a full benefits package is available.
