Farm Credit Illinois (FCI) is now accepting applications for its annual agriculture scholarship and community improvement grant programs, designed to support future agriculture professionals and promote local community development. Applications close on February 28.
Agriculture Scholarships
The $2,500 Farm Credit Illinois Agriculture Scholarship is open to high school seniors who plan to pursue agriculture-related studies in college or vocational school next fall. FCI will award 30 scholarships this year, including two Diversity in Agriculture Scholarships for applicants of color.
Recipients will be chosen based on their participation and leadership in school and community activities, dedication to farming or agriculture, and commitment to an agriculture-related career. Eligible students must live in or have immediate family farming in one of the 60 central or southern Illinois counties served by FCI. Scholarship funds will be disbursed as $1,250 for the fall 2025 semester and $1,250 for the fall 2027 semester.
Community Improvement Grants
In addition to scholarships, FCI offers $500 Community Improvement Grants to 4-H clubs and FFA chapters. These grants aim to empower youth organizations to implement projects that create positive, visible changes in their local communities.
Fifty grants will be awarded this year, encouraging collaboration with local groups to design and execute impactful projects.
Applications for both programs are available online at www.farmcreditIL.com. Interested candidates should submit their applications by February 28. For further assistance or questions, applicants can contact FCI via ask@farmcreditIL.com.
This initiative underscores Farm Credit Illinois’ commitment to fostering educational and community growth in agriculture while supporting the next generation of industry leaders.
