The Arena at the 2024 Illinois State Fair promises a lineup of exciting events for fairgoers of all ages. From thrilling monster truck battles to adrenaline-pumping rodeo competitions and tractor pulls, there's no shortage of entertainment in store.
Kicking off the excitement, the Monsters of Destruction will take over The Arena on Thursday, August 8. Featuring a head-to-head monster truck battle, Tuff Trucks competition, and a Pit Party where attendees can meet the drivers, this event promises non-stop thrills. Monster truck rides will also be available during intermission and after the show.
On Saturday, August 10, Wooten Rodeo presents a full slate of rodeo events, including bareback riding, bull riding, barrel racing, and more. Fairgoers can experience the tradition of the rodeo with edge-of-your-seat action.
The Illinois Tractor Pulling Association (ITPA) returns for three days of pulls from August 12 to 14. With massive machines competing to pull the farthest, spectators will witness the raw power and spirit of competition in action.
Closing out the festivities, the Demolition Derby on Saturday, August 17, promises an adrenaline-pumping night of entertainment. Skilled drivers will compete in a battle of automotive combat until only one remains to claim the title of Illinois State Fair Demolition Derby Champion.
According to Jerry Costello II, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture, The Arena has undergone renovations following a $8.6 million investment, providing an enhanced experience for attendees. Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark encourages fairgoers to purchase tickets in advance to avoid lines and ensure they don't miss any of the action.
Tickets for all events are on sale now, and more information can be found on the Illinois State Fair website.
