ClearShift and Univar Solutions Partner for Zero-Carbon Specialty Chemicals

By Andi Anderson

ClearShift, a Dallas-based leader in environmentally friendly fuels and specialty chemicals, is teaming up with Illinois-based Univar Solutions to offer high-grade, carbon-neutral specialty chemicals. These innovative products will be produced at ClearShift's forthcoming facility in Louisiana, slated to come online in 2027.

Utilizing gas-to-liquids technology, ClearShift converts methane, flare gas, and CO2 into non-combustible specialty chemicals, effectively removing CO2 from the air permanently. This cutting-edge process represents a significant advancement in sustainability, turning pollution into profit while reducing carbon footprints.

The partnership with Univar Solutions will provide ClearShift with a channel to market its premium carbon-friendly products, catering to customers worldwide seeking more sustainable solutions. ClearShift's CEO, John Stephenson, emphasizes the impact of delivering carbon-neutral products at an affordable price, foreseeing a cleaner climate for future generations.

The Louisiana facility aims to produce over 38 million gallons per year of high-grade, carbon-neutral specialty chemicals, furthering ClearShift's commitment to sustainability. Additionally, the company produces clean hydrogen for its production process, aligning with its goal of minimizing environmental impact.

Univar Solutions shares ClearShift's commitment to sustainability, with Kelly Gilroy, the company's VP of sustainable & natural products, highlighting the partnership as a positive step towards a lower carbon future.

This collaboration underscores the growing importance of sustainable practices in the chemical industry, paving the way for a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable world. ClearShift's exclusive financial advisor, Piper Sandler, supports their mission to drive innovation and environmental stewardship in the pursuit of a greener future.
