69 Percent of Illinois Wheat Rates Good to Excellent



Statewide, the average Illinois temperature was 35.2 degrees, 10.4 degrees above normal, reports USDA's National Ag Statistics Service.

Precipitation averaged 2.67 inches, 0.89 inches above normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1 percent very short, 11 percent short, 65 percent adequate, and 23 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent very short, 15 percent short, 70 percent adequate, and 13 percent surplus.

Winter wheat condition was 3 percent very poor, 3 percent poor, 25 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 16 percent excellent.
