68 Percent of Illinois Wheat Good to Excellent



Statewide, the average temperature in Illinois was 30.0 degrees, 0.1 degrees above normal, according to USDA's National Ag Statistics Service.

Precipitation averaged 2.47 inches, 0.22 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 8 percent short, 82 percent adequate, and 10 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 6 percent very short, 23 percent short, 66 percent adequate, and 5 percent surplus.

Winter wheat condition was 1 percent poor, 31 percent fair, 57 percent good, and 11 percent excellent.
