The National Professional Agricultural Student (PAS) Organization Conference, "Sowing Fields of Dreams: Harvesting New Opportunities," was held over spring break week in Des Moines, Iowa, with several Western Illinois University School students brining home honors.
WIU students winning honors during the event include:
- David Ramirez, a junior law enforcement and justice administration major, of Island Lake, Ill. – First place for Prepared Public Speaking
- Luke Jesgarz, a senior agriculture major, of Shelbyville, Ill. – Second place for Employment Interview for Agribusiness Administration
- Clayton Walch, a junior agriculture major, of Raymond, Ill. – Third high individual for Soils Specialist Team – other team members include Elaina Allaman, a freshman agriculture major, of Monmouth, IL, and Christy Mahr, a senior agriculture major, of Hanna City, Ill.
- Emma Lowe, a sophomore agriculture major, of Quincy, Ill. – Third high individual for Equine Specialist Team – other team members include Jesgarz and Laurel Keyt, a senior agriculture major, of Hanna City, Ill.
