Tom Weber honored for agriculture dedication

State Representative Tom Weber has been honored with the “Friend of Agriculture” award by the Illinois Farm Bureau, acknowledging his steadfast support for Illinois farmers and the agricultural industry.

This award recognizes lawmakers who advocate for farming policies that benefit the state’s economy and community.

Representative Weber, who serves Illinois’ Lake Villa district, received this accolade last month at Richardson Adventure Farm in Spring Grove, a location symbolic of the state’s vibrant farming tradition.

The award was presented by McHenry County Farm Bureau Manager Dan Volkers and Lake County Farm Bureau Director Andy Yarc.

These representatives from local farming bureaus highlighted Weber’s commitment to policies that strengthen agriculture, an industry that not only provides food for Illinois families but also fuels the state’s economy.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Weber spoke about the importance of agriculture in Illinois, stating, “Agriculture is one of our state’s most important industries, and it not only puts food on our tables but also drives our economy. I’m proud to stand alongside Illinois’ farmers and support policies that help agriculture succeed in Illinois.”

This award was based on legislators’ support for agricultural initiatives during the 103rd General Assembly. Lawmakers who earn the “Friend of Agriculture” title are chosen for their understanding of agriculture’s positive impact on the local economy, food security, and Illinois’ role in the broader agricultural landscape.

Through this recognition, the Illinois Farm Bureau underscores the importance of supportive legislative efforts in enhancing farming opportunities, sustaining rural communities, and fostering economic growth.

Weber also expressed appreciation to Richardson Adventure Farm, McHenry County Farm Bureau, and Lake County Farm Bureau for hosting the award ceremony and for their dedication to local agriculture.

He emphasized that he remains committed to representing the interests of Illinois’ farmers and supporting policies that allow the agriculture industry to thrive.

The Illinois Farm Bureau’s “Friend of Agriculture” award serves as an encouragement to legislators to continue advocating for agricultural growth and stability, ensuring Illinois maintains its vital contributions to the state, nation, and world.
