Megan Moroney brings country charm to Illinois State Fair

Country music’s rising star Megan Moroney, named "Country's New Darling" by People Magazine, is scheduled to bring her unique emo cowgirl style to the Illinois State Fair Grandstand on Saturday, August 10. Known for her deeply personal lyrics and captivating stage presence, Moroney has quickly become a household name, amassing nearly 2 billion global streams to date.

Her sophomore album, Am I Okay?, launched in July 2024 and debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200, marking it as the third-biggest debut of the year from a female country artist. Esteemed publications like Rolling Stone, The New York Times, and Billboard have praised her work.

“The Illinois State Fair has a long tradition of showcasing artists early in their careers,” said Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II. “We’re looking forward to Megan Moroney’s Grandstand appearance in August. She has a bright future in Country music.”

Am I Okay? includes hit singles like "No Caller ID," a post-breakup anthem that set records for the highest U.S. streaming debut by a female country artist. The album builds on her success from Lucky, her 2023 debut album featuring the 3X platinum hit "Tennessee Orange."

With accolades including the Breakthrough Female Video of the Year at the 2023 CMT Music Awards and Breakout Artist of the Year at the 2024 CountryBreakout Awards, Moroney has quickly solidified her place in the industry.

The 58th Annual CMA Awards on November 20 will see Moroney competing for Female Vocalist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Music Video of the Year for her song "I’m Not Pretty." This precedes her highly anticipated headline AM I OKAY? TOUR, beginning in March 2025.

Fans can secure tickets starting November 16 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. The Illinois State Fair offers discounted ticket options to make her performance accessible: Tier 3 tickets are $47, Tier 2 at $57, Tier 1 at $60, SRO Track at $65, and Blue Ribbon Zone at $122. Once discounted tickets are sold out, prices will increase for certain sections.
