Joel Gruver Wins 2024 Sustainable Ag Award

Joel Gruver, an Agricultural Professor at Western Illinois University, secures the 2024 Sustainable Agriculture Achievement Award from Practical Farmer of Iowa (PFI). The accolade recognizes Gruver's 17-year dedication to sustainable agriculture, marked by his active involvement in PFI, presentations at their conferences, and hosting fellow farmers at WIU/Allison Farm. 

Gruver's commitment to education and innovation, particularly in cover crop experimentation, stands out. His role in the PFI email listserv, sharing insights and research results, further highlights his generosity in disseminating knowledge. 

The selection committee commends Gruver for his curiosity and openness in exploring novel approaches, positively impacting Midwest agriculture's diversity and conservation practices. 

Expressing his admiration for PFI, Gruver deems it the premier organization supporting all aspects of sustainable agriculture. His significant contributions and dedication earn him the esteemed 2024 Sustainable Agriculture Achievement Award, solidifying his status as a noteworthy figure in the field.
