The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) is excited to announce the opening of the 17th Annual Illinois Product Farmers Market. Join us on Thursday, May 16th, at 5:00 p.m. at The Shed on the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mayor Misty Buscher will be cutting the ribbon and delivering brief remarks to celebrate the market's launch.
The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. with the opening of the farmers market, featuring a variety of local products. Kids can enjoy the Touch-A-Truck event, balloon artists, and face painting. There will be prize drawings throughout the evening, with the first one starting at 4:00 p.m. and continuing every half hour until 7:00 p.m. Remember, you must be present to win!
At 5:30 p.m., enjoy live music from Not Petty, a Tom Petty cover band, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. This event is a fantastic opportunity to support local farmers, enjoy family-friendly activities, and celebrate community spirit.
