Ag Council Hosts Mac and Cheese Cookoff Fundraiser

By Andi Anderson

The Western Illinois University Ag Council is set to bring the community together for an exciting Mac and Cheese Cookoff fundraiser. Scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 4 to 6 p.m., the event will take place at The American Legion on East Washington Street.

This friendly competition will see various student organizations from WIU’s School of Agriculture showcasing their best mac and cheese recipes. The goal is to determine which group can create the most delicious dish while raising funds for the upcoming Ag Banquet in April.

Attendees will not only get to enjoy different variations of mac and cheese but will also have the chance to vote for their favorite recipe. The event is open to everyone, including WIU students, faculty, staff, and members of the Macomb community.

Tickets for the event are priced at $8 if purchased in advance and $10 at the door. Children aged 10 and under can attend for free with the purchase of an adult ticket, with one child covered per ticket.

The Ag Council encourages participation from all as they aim to make this event a success. Not only will attendees get to enjoy delicious food, but they will also be supporting a great cause. By attending and voting for the best recipe, the community can help in making the Ag Banquet a memorable event for WIU’s agricultural students.

With a mix of friendly competition and tasty food, this cookoff promises to be a fun and engaging experience for everyone involved.
