Illinois State Fair Grandstand Ticket Record Broken
Illinois Ag Connection - 08/16/2019

The 2019 Illinois State Fair has broken another grandstand record, surging past the record for ticket sales. As of Thursday, 59,023 grandstand tickets have been sold, breaking the all-time ticket sales record set in 2017 by 661 tickets and counting.

"This record-breaking fair is bringing together Illinoisans from all over to celebrate our wonderful state, and I've had a great time at the events, at the booths and talking with people," said Governor JB Pritzker. "Congratulations to the Department of Agriculture and the entire state fair team for putting on such a successful event that makes us all so proud to be Illinoisans."

"With a lot of walk-up sales for Old Dominion expected tonight and plenty of tickets left for Snoop Dogg Friday and Shinedown Saturday, we have no doubt ticket sales will rise well above the record," said Kevin Gordon, Illinois State Fair manager. "We're thrilled that this fair continues to break records and I'm grateful to their entire staff for all of their hard work."

Reba McEntire will wrap up the fair by headlining Sunday, but tickets for that show are sold out. The Illinois State Fair announced Tuesday that it had set a record for grandstand ticket revenue, which is now up to $2,155,344. The previous revenue record was $2,082,078, set back in 2016.
