Illinois Ag Connection - 07/21/2017

Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, will give back to its local communities on July 21 during the College's ninth annual Community Service Day. Approximately 900 employees and students from its 22 campuses and three central offices will participate in the national service day event. Through this annual effort, staff and students will volunteer more than 2,700 hours in just one 24-hour period.

"Rasmussen College has provided education and resources that extend beyond our students and into our communities since 1900. Community Service Day celebrates this continuing legacy and demonstrates our commitment to serving our communities," said Dr. Trenda Boyum-Breen, president of Rasmussen College. "In addition to our annual community service day event, we offer paid time off to our employees to volunteer so they can connect with local organizations and help make our communities a better place to live, grow and learn."

During this year's Community Service Day, Rasmussen College employees and students will perform a variety of tasks, from landscaping at nonprofit organizations, to packing birthday boxes for children in need, to cycling to raise money for single mothers.
