Illinois Ag Connection - 04/28/2017

BRANDT announced the appointment of another industry veteran to its board of directors. G. David Delaney, most recently executive vice president and chief operating officer of PotashCorp, will bring more than 30 years of experience in global agriculture and chemicals to the BRANDT organization.

"As we grow our business around the world, we continue to grow our leadership pool," said Rick Brandt, President and CEO of BRANDT. "Dave provides the experience and expertise to help us take BRANDT to the next level. He is an acknowledged industry leader with an amazing track record."

Joining 12 other directors, Delaney was elected today by the BRANDT shareholders at their annual meeting.

Delaney boasts a history of driving growth and transforming businesses. He spent more than 20 years at PotashCorp, working most recently as COO of the $7.2 billion fertilizer enterprise with responsibility across operations including all of Potash's business segments. Before that role, he was President, Sales where he led the centralization of the global sales function.

"I am excited to join the BRANDT board," Delaney said. "I see this as an opportunity to provide additional leadership and help set direction for one of the industry's fastest-growing companies. I look forward to bringing my experience to the BRANDT board and the company overall."

Board committee responsibilities are still being determined for Delaney.

"From the employee level up to the Board level, our goal is to attract and retain the best and the brightest. And that's the best across all industries," said Rick Brandt. "That statement describes Dave. I've known him as an industry colleague for a long time and I've been impressed with him since the first day I met him."

Delaney is active on a number of boards and industry groups. He has served as chairman of the Fluid Fertilizer Association and Phosphate Chemicals Expert Association; he was director for the International Plant Nutrition Institute.

Delaney resides in Lake Forest, Ill., with his wife Kelley and three daughters.

A leading agricultural company, BRANDT consists of three divisions--Specialty Formulations, Retail Agronomy and Dealer Support--serving growers around the globe. BRANDT operates 24 agricultural supply outlets across central Illinois. Founded in 1953 by Glen Brandt and his sister, Evelyn Brandt Thomas, to help Illinois farmers adopt new and profitable technologies, the company has experienced aggressive growth under the leadership of President and CEO Rick Brandt.
