New Illinois Pollution Control Board Appointment Made
Illinois Ag Connection - 04/19/2018

Gov. Bruce Rauner has appointed U-Jung Choe as an Illinois Pollution Control Board (PCB) member.

Prior to this role, Choe served as the Policy Director for Governor Rauner, where she oversaw environmental policy issues. This included working with the Pollution Control Board and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for the purpose of conducting a comprehensive review of the existing environmental regulations.

"U-Jung is a skilled policy developer who has overseen enforcement of administrative law and led regulatory reform," Rauner said. "Her familiarity with environmental policy issues will positively contribute to the PCB."

Having previously served as the Hearing Judge for the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, Choe has extensive experience concerning administrative laws and procedures. She also gained litigation experience on environmental law matters while serving as Deputy Attorney General for the Indiana Attorney General.

Choe received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and East Asian Studies from Indiana University and earned her law degree at Syracuse University College of Law. Her appointment is effective April 17 and she will complete the term of Gerald Keenan, who resigned from the PCB to pursue other opportunities. Choe's term will expire on July 1, 2018.
